Four found stabbed to death at Miami-Dade residence
A man, two girls and a woman were found stabbed to death at a home in Miami-Dade County on Tuesday evening in what investigators believe was a murder-suicide, abcnews.com reports.
Doral Police Officers responded to a welfare check at approximately 7:30 p.m. and entered the residence to find all four individuals unresponsive. Each had suffered stab wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office identified the deceased as 42-year-old Ryan Charles Whiten, 46-year-old Melanie Lauren Hyer, and two girls — 11-year-old Savannah Whiten and 8-year-old Sienna Whiten. Whiten was the biological father of both girls; Hyer was their mother.
Investigators believe Whiten killed Hyer and the two children before taking his own life.
"The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Homicide Bureau investigation is currently leading detectives to believe this incident was a murder-suicide," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "Investigators are continuing to work closely with the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner's Office as the investigation remains active."
The investigation is ongoing.
