Good Samaritan Pepper-Sprayed and Slashed in Harlem After Breaking Up Dog Fight

A 47-year-old man was pepper-sprayed and cut on the face and hand Sunday night on West 125th Street after intervening in a fight between dog owners. The two suspects fled east on foot and remain at large.

Harlem Man Attacked After Stepping Between Feuding Dog Owners

A 47-year-old man was pepper-sprayed and slashed on the face and hand Sunday night in Harlem after he tried to intervene in a dispute between dog owners, NY Post Metro reports.

The incident unfolded around 8 p.m. on West 125th Street near Malcolm X Boulevard, according to law enforcement sources. The victim stepped in after spotting two dogs becoming aggressive with each other, at which point their owners began fighting.

A man and woman walking one of the dogs then turned on the bystander. One suspect pepper-sprayed him while both cut him with a "sharp object," authorities said. The victim was transported to Harlem Hospital and listed in stable condition.

The pair fled on foot heading east on 125th Street. Surveillance footage shows them riding the subway shortly afterward — the man wearing a black ski mask, the woman in a camouflage headband and dark sunglasses — with their dog at their side.
