A federal-led crackdown across Palm Beach County has produced dozens of arrests and the confiscation of weapons and narcotics in a coordinated effort against repeat violent offenders.

Federal authorities in Florida have charged 46 people and confiscated 94 weapons during a two-month offensive against violent crime in Palm Beach County. The push, called "Operation Hurricane," began in May under the direction of the ATF's Miami office.

As reported by the U.S. Department of Justice, agents from across the nation joined regional police units for this enhanced enforcement drive. Their mission centered on interrupting the flow of unlawful weapons and narcotics throughout the area.

Among those detained, 38 face prosecution at the federal level while 8 are being tried under state law. The majority are locals from Palm Beach County. Seized items include rifles, pistols, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and roughly 9.4 kilograms of drugs such as fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and crack.

Charges span a range of serious allegations: possession of firearms by convicted felons, drug distribution conspiracies, armed narcotics trafficking, attempted robbery under the Hobbs Act, and possession of unregistered weapons. Prosecutors filed indictments and complaints in recent weeks.

Top officials highlighted the results as proof that concentrated, intelligence-driven enforcement can curb violence. The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida praised officers for risking their safety to get deadly contraband off the streets. The ATF director emphasized that the effort zeroed in on gang affiliates, cartel-linked figures, and other high-threat individuals.

The DEA's Miami chief and the West Palm Beach police chief both underscored the value of multi-agency teamwork in bringing the operation to fruition.
