A man was fatally wounded with a blade during the early hours of June 19 near the crossing of 32nd and A Street in Alaska's biggest urban center.

Patrol units from the Anchorage Police Department reached the area shortly after midnight, answering emergency calls about an assault involving a sharp weapon. They found an adult male who had already succumbed to his wounds.

Investigators summoned forensic specialists to examine the location. Two persons were held at the scene for questioning.

Jaden Quezada, 22, was later moved to the Anchorage Correctional Center. He faces accusations of second-degree murder and manslaughter, plus two separate bench warrants that predate this case.

Officials have withheld the name of the person killed until relatives are informed.

The probe continues, and law enforcement has offered no details about a possible link between the suspect and the victim or what triggered the violence.
