Thirty-six-year-old Nick Pasqual forced entry into Allie Shehorn's dwelling in Sunland during spring 2024. The specialized cosmetics professional — whose industry accolades include a horror-festival prize — sustained over twenty puncture wounds.
The panel of citizens had returned guilty findings the prior month on several grave accusations, among them attempted killing, coerced sexual contact, and spousal cruelty. Documentation from the judicial proceeding, examined by the New York Post, verified these outcomes.
Presiding magistrate Hayden Zackey delivered the life term Tuesday, prompting spectators to applaud. He labeled the offense "savage" and the perpetrator "as bad as it gets." Capital punishment had initially remained on the table, he observed, but the complainant's refusal to perish ultimately preserved the defendant from that fate.
Zackey further remarked he had never before witnessed such single-minded determination to inflict terror.
The injured woman, thirty-seven, confronted her attacker during the hearing. Clad in crimson that revealed her healing injuries, she described collapsing in her own blood and fearing permanent loss of fertility. She recalled improvising a tourniquet from a belt around her throat to slow hemorrhaging before rescuers arrived.
Shehorn branded Pasqual a coward and declared her markings serve now as emblems of fortitude.
The condemned man briefly petitioned to address the assembly, causing audible shock among attendees. He spoke of carrying a heavy burden and pursuing temperance, but his target afterward dismissed these utterances as hollow to the same news outlet.
