Andrea Shaw, a 23-year-old mother from Idaho, has been indicted on murder charges after a 14-month investigation into the deaths of her twin infants, according to the New York Times.

In May 2025, Shaw was interviewed by the anti-vaccine organization Children’s Health Defense, co-founded by U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy. During the interview, she claimed her twin babies, Tyson and Dallas, had died in their sleep just days earlier. She attributed their deaths to vaccines. The organization quickly elevated her case and launched two legal actions against a U.S. pediatric association, alleging it had lied about childhood vaccine safety.

However, prosecutors now allege a far darker explanation. Shaw is accused of smothering her two babies while they slept. Police have declined to comment on specific evidence but stated they received "invaluable assistance" from multiple organizations during the investigation.

Shaw’s defense attorney told the New York Times that she denies the allegations and continues to maintain that vaccines caused breathing difficulties in her children. Mary Holland, chief executive of Children’s Health Defense, also defended Shaw, stating there is "absolutely no evidence" she killed her children and insisting the organization would continue its legal battles.

Robert F. Kennedy has not publicly commented on the case.
