A 45-year-old resident of Panama City, Florida, was handed a five-year prison term on Wednesday after jurors convicted her of narcotics trafficking in under a quarter of an hour, the local prosecutor's office announced.
Ellisa Williams was found guilty of moving methamphetamine weighing between 14 and 28 grams. The presiding judge, Brandon Young, imposed the sentence, which carries a compulsory minimum of three years behind bars. A monetary penalty of $50,000 was also levied.
The arrest unfolded on November 16, 2025, when a patrol officer spotted a car with excessively dark glass near the junction of West 19th Street and Michigan Avenue. State law mandates that front-side auto glass permit no less than 28 percent of light to pass through; measurements showed the vehicle allowed merely 5.4 percent.
The officer noted a smell of cannabis. Because neither person in the car held a medical-use card for the substance, a police dog named Arson was called to the location. The animal indicated the presence of contraband near the driver's entry point and a dark handbag. A subsequent search uncovered close to 28 grams of crystal meth inside a red pouch, plus a lesser quantity in the black bag.
Recorded footage from the officer's wearable camera preserved Williams telling a corporal that she and the motorist had driven to Callaway to fetch roughly one ounce of the drug for onward distribution. She further confirmed the red pouch belonged to her.
The prosecution presented only three witnesses to establish guilt. The lead prosecutor commended local officers for their vigilant patrol efforts and thanked administrative personnel for coordinating the case materials.
