Colombian man arrested in Kingston on felony warrants from two states

A 26-year-old Colombian national was taken into custody in Kingston, Tenn., after a FLOCK camera alert flagged his van for outstanding felony warrants.

FLOCK camera alert leads to multi-state fugitive arrest in Kingston

A 26-year-old man wanted on felony warrants in North Carolina and Tennessee was arrested in Kingston on May 20, after the Kingston Police Department received an automated alert from a FLOCK camera, wvlt.tv reports.

According to KPD, the alert came in at approximately 3:57 p.m., flagging a white Nissan van whose driver held active felony warrants out of North Carolina. Officers located the vehicle and its driver, Elvis Ibarguen Salazar, of Colombia, at the Rocky Top at 200 W. Race Street.

KPD took Salazar into custody with assistance from the Roane County Sheriff's Office and the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Officers also seized the van and multiple packages found inside.

Investigators say Salazar is suspected in multiple thefts and break-ins across Tennessee and North Carolina, and may be connected to a larger criminal organization. Authorities additionally confirmed he had active felony warrants outstanding from Williamson County, Tennessee.
