At roughly noon, patrol units identified the described automobile at a retail complex off Montgomery Highway. A stop was initiated, but the target was absent from the car. Subsequent tips pointed to Savage being inside a dwelling on Mance Newton Road.

The municipal force deployed its tactical squad, collaborating with the Dale County Sheriff and U.S. Marshals. Their combined effort produced a smooth arrest. Savage was subsequently booked into the jail in Lowndes County.
