A law enforcement chase that originated in western Tennessee concluded across the state line in northern Mississippi on Thursday, ending with the detention of six minors.

The sequence began near 7:15 p.m. when Memphis patrol units answered a tip regarding a dubious automobile at Rhodes Avenue and Will Scarlet Road. Once on location, officers established that the Jeep had been acquired through a holdup.

The motorist disregarded commands to stop and instead sped off. The pursuit stretched into Southaven, where the Jeep finally came to rest on Main Street in the vicinity of Interstate 55. Every rider then bolted from the vehicle in an effort to escape.

All six were eventually cornered and captured. The group comprised only adolescents: three who had reached age 15, two at 17, and the youngest at 14. They were all placed under arrest on Mississippi soil.

Officials characterize the probe as active. No formal accusations have been announced for any of the detained youths.
