The man suspected of fatally shooting a Bronx Uber driver on New Year's Day has been arrested in the Dominican Republic, bronx.news12.com reports, citing the Dominican Republic National Police.

Ehinel Troncoso, 24, is accused of killing 55-year-old Issa Isac-Mbolo, a father of four, in the Morris Heights neighborhood. Troncoso allegedly spotted damage to his parked car outside a bar in Mott Haven, drew a gun and fired, striking Mbolo in the head.

The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers (NYSFTD) had offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to Troncoso's arrest. At a January 2 press conference, a source — whose remarks were translated by NYSFTD representative Fernando Mateo — suggested Troncoso may have fled to the Dominican Republic.

Mbolo's family told News 12 they were at a loss for words. "We just don't have words to express the anger and frustration that this incident created," said Zorome, his younger brother.

The NYPD has not released details about Troncoso's arrest or any extradition proceedings to bring him back to New York City.
