The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office identified the deceased on Monday, March 23, as Simeon Calvert, 25. He was transported to hospital and pronounced dead there. The four other victims — aged 20, 21, 29 and 29 — were also taken to hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from an argument. Milwaukee police are currently seeking an unknown shooter. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Milwaukee Police Department at 414-935-7360, or to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 414-224-TIPS or P3 Tips.

Neighbors described ducking for cover as gunfire rang out. "The gunshots were, like, ongoing," said India Grenada, a resident in the area. A second neighbor said: "I hit the floor, I had to because it was too close to home."

Some witnesses declined to appear on camera, citing safety concerns. Several noted that shootings in the area have grown increasingly frequent. At least seven shootings have taken place in the vicinity since January 2025. Less than two weeks before Saturday's incident, a man, a woman and her unborn child were shot and killed nearby, close to Teutonia and Green Tree.

"It makes me feel, like, unease within," Grenada said. "Because we have a lot of children, and we should be role models for them — and for this to keep happening like that, it just makes people fear to even bring their kids out and play and be themselves."
