A 50-year-old individual in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina is facing serious criminal accusations after authorities say he ambushed a group of youngsters on electric bicycles and forcibly took one into his dwelling.

Chad Larsen was apprehended Monday on Planters Curve. He faces allegations including seizing a minor, aggravated physical attack, and simple attack, according to local law enforcement.

Investigators say the defendant had been repeatedly subjected to doorbell pranks by neighborhood children over a two-week span. He reportedly told officers he had driven around attempting to identify the youngsters responsible.

The confrontation occurred around 3 p.m. when someone woke Larsen and said a group of juveniles wanted to speak with him. Expecting an apology, he went outside. Instead, he claimed they ridiculed him before riding away.

Larsen then concealed himself in a neighbor's greenery. When the group returned, he emerged and knocked two minors from their e-bikes. While both fell to the ground, one broke free. The defendant allegedly seized the other by the throat and upper limb, then hauled the juvenile into his house.

During the struggle, he grasped a stone and reportedly told the minor he should strike them with it. He eventually released the rock, though could not remember exactly when, the incident report indicates.

Upon arrival, officers spotted Larsen holding the youngster behind a glass panel. The knob had been snapped off, requiring an officer to retrieve the detached piece to open the door and detain him.

Medical responders were called to examine the child. Larsen continued responding to investigators' inquiries, though an officer noted he spoke as if the minors were to blame. En route to the station, he demanded an attorney and was redirected to Al Cannon Detention Center.

A judge refused to grant bail. The defendant remained incarcerated as of the latest reports.
