Connecticut Woman Accused of Providing Cannabis Edible to Minor at Mental Health Center

Law enforcement in Westport, Connecticut, have taken a Manchester resident into custody amid allegations that she distributed a marijuana-laced candy to an underage individual receiving care at a local psychiatric center.

According to CT Insider, officers opened a probe into Kimberly Champlin after the Department of Children and Families flagged potential mistreatment on October 20. Detectives followed up on the tip and gathered enough proof to secure a judicial order for her detention.

Troopers elsewhere in the state located Champlin and notified Westport colleagues that she was being held on the active warrant. She was subsequently brought to the local station and booked on a charge of endangering a youngster's welfare.

After putting up $10,000 in bail, Champlin was released. She is due to answer the accusation before a judge in Stamford at the end of May.
