A late-night shooting in the Coney Island neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, left at least eight people injured on Independence Day. Among the wounded were four children aged 6, 7, 12 and 14, along with two women and two men, according to Večernji list, citing ABC News.
The New York Police Department responded to a call at 22:37 local time on West 31st Street. All victims were transported to hospitals. Seven are in stable condition, while a 21-year-old woman remains in critical condition.
Officers found a firearm at the scene, but no arrests have been made so far. Saturday marked the 250th anniversary of United States independence.
The investigation is ongoing as police continue to search for the perpetrators.
