Luigi Mangione, a 28-year-old man, is accused of killing Brian Thompson, the 50-year-old CEO of UnitedHealthcare, in New York in December 2024. Mangione faces two separate legal proceedings. At the state level in New York, he has been charged with murder and could face life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. A state trial is scheduled for September.
