Multiple child endangerment and DWI arrests in Kingston and Mid-Hudson Valley

Six people were arrested across the Mid-Hudson Valley between July 17–20, facing charges ranging from child endangerment to strangulation and drunk driving.

Six arrested in Mid-Hudson Valley on child and driving offences

dailyfreeman.com reports a series of arrests across the Mid-Hudson Valley between Friday, July 17 and Monday, July 20, 2026, involving child endangerment, strangulation, and impaired driving charges.

Kingston Police Department arrests

Quameik Byrd, 31, was taken into custody at 9:36 a.m. on July 17 and charged with acting in a manner to injure a child under 17, criminal contempt with intent to damage property, and criminal mischief — all misdemeanors. Byrd was held pending arraignment.

Later the same morning, Glenn Jones, 39, was arrested at 12:17 p.m. and charged with acting in a manner to injure a child under 17 and criminal mischief, specifically disabling equipment to prevent a request for emergency assistance. Both counts are misdemeanors. Jones was also held pending arraignment.

Jacob-William Sanders, 29, was arrested on Saturday, July 19, at 3:30 p.m. and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and menacing with a weapon, both misdemeanors. Sanders was held pending arraignment.

Strangulation felony charge

Michael J. Beck, 28, of West Hurley, was arrested by state police at Coxsackie at 7:49 p.m. on Monday, July 20. Beck faces one felony count of strangulation — obstruction of breathing or blood circulation causing physical injury — as well as two misdemeanor counts of acting in a manner to injure a child under 17 and one count of assault. He was ordered held without bail.

Impaired driving arrests

Jillian M. Janasiewicz, 34, of Tomkins Cove, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 3:24 p.m. on July 20 and charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated, the latter involving a blood alcohol level at or exceeding 0.18%. Both charges are misdemeanors. Janasiewicz was released with tickets for Rochester Town Court.

Toni Marie DeJesus, 57, of Saugerties, was arrested by the same troop at 12:07 p.m. on July 20 on Sawkill Road following a personal injury motor vehicle accident. She was charged with driving while impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor, and released with tickets for Ulster Town Court.

All persons charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
