Officers responding to reports of shots fired discovered multiple casualties at the scene. The injured range in age from fourteen to sixty-one. Police deputy chief Joe Heffernan described the probe as "very intensive." He told Reuters that investigators have gathered certain evidence and are following multiple leads. The search for suspects remains active.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine addressed the incident on social media platform X. "Summer festivals should be a safe place where families can spend time together without fear of violence," he wrote. "We are confident that law enforcement will track down those responsible for this senseless crime."
