An adult male sustained injuries from gunfire Wednesday night in midtown Omaha and managed to get himself to a hospital for treatment, according to WOWT.

Law enforcement was summoned shortly before 9 p.m. to an area just north of the intersection of 31st and Dodge streets. Upon arrival, officers found signs that a weapon had been fired at the scene.

The victim, who is 46 years old, had already departed the location by the time police arrived. He had driven himself to receive emergency care.

The Omaha Police Department indicated that the matter is still under active review.
