A 20-year-old from Severn, Maryland was arrested after police found a loaded Glock handgun with a removed serial number in his vehicle at a closed park.

A young man from Severn, Maryland, aged 20, was taken into custody when a patrol officer found a loaded pistol with its identifying marks scraped off inside his car at a shut recreation area.

Late on the evening of July 14, 2026, around 9:50 p.m., an officer was checking Jessup-Dorsey Park in Hanover. The facility is off-limits between sunset and sunrise. During the inspection, the officer spotted a Nissan Sentra that was occupied despite the closure.

After approaching the driver, the officer gathered sufficient grounds to examine the vehicle. Inside, authorities recovered a 9mm Glock that was both loaded and missing its serial number, plus fourteen rounds of ammunition.

Elijah Sammuell Peace was arrested and formally charged following the discovery.
