A male individual suffered bullet wounds aboard a vessel close to a waterfront hotel in Fort Lauderdale during Independence Day celebrations.

Local law enforcement reported that the incident unfolded along SE 17th Street, in the vicinity of the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina. The wounded party was conveyed to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment. Medical personnel assessed his condition as not posing an immediate threat to life.

The individual believed to have fired the weapon reportedly escaped in a vehicle of dark hue, according to officers at the scene. No one has been taken into custody at this stage.
