Douglas Beavers, the mayor of Pollock, Louisiana, was arrested on a "Peeping Tom" charge on June 5, according to kalb.com.

The Olla Police Department's chief issued a warrant for Beavers' arrest following an incident involving a juvenile in Olla. The alleged incident is linked to a period when Beavers was employed as a school coach.

Beavers turned himself in with assistance from the Olla police chief and was subsequently released on bond.

Speaking to KALB after bonding out, Beavers firmly denied the allegations. "The people should know the truth. I'm not going to hide the truth from the people. Never have, and I'm not going to start now. Know your mayor is innocent," he said.

The mayor stated he will not enter into any plea deal and intends to contest the charge in court. "There will be no plea deals. There will be no settling this out of court. I will be at court if they choose to go. I will prove my innocence, but beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am completely innocent," Beavers said.

He described the charge as "ridiculous" and characterised it as an "electoral witch hunt."
