A young boy died from a bullet wound in a suburban Chicago house. Investigators are handling it as a murder case and have placed three household members under arrest.

A toddler aged five lost his life after sustaining a bullet wound during the evening inside a suburban Chicago dwelling.

Authorities in Riverdale received an emergency call shortly after 6 p.m. on Tuesday concerning a juvenile who had been struck by a projectile at an address along South State Street. Paramedics and officers who rushed to the location found the youngster lifeless.

The county coroner later named the deceased as Ro'son Garret.

Detectives are pursuing the matter as an intentional killing. Three individuals belonging to the same household who were on the premises when the fatal shot occurred are now in police hands.
