A 33-year-old South Florida mother faces a felony charge after Miami-Dade Schools Police found a loaded firearm in her bag at a Miami high school, local10.com reports.

Officers arrested Apolonia Crumpton on Tuesday at Miami Northwestern Senior High School, 1100 NW 71st St., in the Liberty City neighbourhood. Crumpton had come to the school because her daughter was involved in a fight.

According to the arrest report, Crumpton, described as an "irate parent," told staff she "had that s--- in her bag," prompting school security officers to suspect she was armed. She also reportedly told a security officer, "I got hands and bullets. Whichever one they want."

A search of her bag revealed a black 9mm firearm along with ammunition.

Crumpton was charged with one felony count of possession of a firearm on school property. As of Wednesday afternoon, she was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, with bond listed as "to be set."
