A shooting in the 100 block of North Hoyt Street in Anchorage left one man dead and another person hospitalized with potentially life-threatening injuries.

Gunfire erupted on North Hoyt Street in Alaska's largest city before dawn on Saturday, claiming one life and sending a second victim to emergency care, municipal law enforcement reported.

Patrol units reached the location in the 100 block at five minutes past five in the morning on June 13, 2026. At the scene, they discovered a male who had succumbed to his wounds. Another individual was rushed to a hospital with trauma that doctors consider potentially fatal.

Case detectives say they have identified and interviewed all parties thought to have involvement in the violence. No outstanding suspects are being sought at this stage.
