Woman charged with manslaughter after friend bleeds out in parents' arms
A 22-year-old woman has been indicted for manslaughter following a fatal knife attack on a 28-year-old acquaintance in Long Island, New York.
Kristen Sculley allegedly crept into the basement where the victim lived at his parents' residence late Tuesday night. The pair had arranged to meet beforehand, according to police spokesperson George Darienzo.
Something went terribly wrong during the encounter. Sculley reportedly became angry for unknown reasons and stabbed the man in the neck with a pocket knife while he lay in bed, authorities say.
Despite his severe injuries, the victim managed to climb the stairs to seek help from his mother and father.
– He went upstairs calling for his mom. When he screamed, his parents rushed to help and tried to stop the bleeding in the kitchen. At that point their son lost consciousness, Darienzo told media.
The man's life could not be saved. He died in his father's arms.
– No family should ever have to watch their son be killed, Darienzo added.
The crime scene was described as horrific. Sculley has been formally charged with manslaughter in connection with the stabbing.
