A suspect has been arraigned on a charge of second-degree murder in connection with the 2022 death of Anna Scott, whose body was discovered in the trunk of a burned car on a Nevada interstate, kolotv.com reports.
Delshay Astor appeared in U.S. District Court on one count of second-degree murder within Indian country. The Washoe County Sheriff's Office announced the arraignment Wednesday at a joint press conference with the FBI and the U.S. Attorney's Office for Nevada.
Scott's body was found on 3 February 2022 in the trunk of a burned vehicle on I-580, near the Galena Creek Bridge. She had been shot before being placed in the car.
Chris Delzotto, the Special Agent in Charge at the FBI Las Vegas Field Office, addressed the length of the investigation. "We do not forget. We do not give up. We will hold violent offenders accountable no matter how long it takes," Delzotto said.
He added that the impact of Scott's death continues to be felt. "Her family and the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe continue to feel the effects of this significant loss," Delzotto said.
