Police in Tennessee have arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with a shooting that left another individual seriously wounded at a vehicle cleaning facility in Hermitage.

According to WSMV, Metro Nashville officers were called to a nearby gas station on Lebanon Pike after a man showed up suffering from a gunshot injury. Detectives traced the incident to the Hermitage Auto Wash located across the road.

Video recordings from the business showed the injured party departing the premises, with Joshua Ross trailing behind while armed. A female companion was also present and, at one stage, removed the weapon from Ross's grasp, court documents indicate.

The wounded man informed investigators that Ross had claimed he had taken a firearm. Ross then allegedly aimed his weapon and discharged it. The round hit the victim in the backside and passed through to his upper leg. Emergency personnel rushed him to TriStar Skyline Medical Center for surgical intervention.

Law enforcement discovered one fired 9mm shell at the location. Ross was pinpointed through surveillance images and a lineup procedure. He was apprehended on July 10.

He now faces accusations of attempted homicide and using a firearm during a serious felony. Judicial officials set bail at $80,000. Authorities indicated he may also be wanted in additional jurisdictions.
