Law enforcement took Gabriel Antonio Bercea into custody at his machining job earlier this week. Scientific analysis of biological material found beneath the deceased's nails and on his hands reportedly matched the younger man. The fatal encounter occurred on May 3 at Woodland Hills Park.

According to the local police chief, the older man suffered fatal injuries during an altercation that involved being struck with a piece of timber and asphyxiation. Investigators believe the pair had no prior acquaintance, though the department has not ruled out all possible connections.

Tips from locals proved essential to detectives. Homeowners volunteered doorbell recordings, and merchants reviewed their security systems. A few frames showing an automobile pulling into the preserve during the critical window helped authorities trace the vehicle.
