A 25-year-old was detained after a middle-aged man was shot during a domestic dispute at a McDowell Road home in Delafield, Wisconsin.

Gunfire erupted inside a McDowell Road dwelling in Delafield around 2:50 p.m. Sunday, leaving a middle-aged male badly hurt, the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department reported.

The wounded individual, aged 52, was conveyed to a hospital with grave injuries. A quarter-century-old man was subsequently placed under arrest. The sheriff's agency described the matter as a "domestic incident" and noted that no further danger exists for area residents.

What sparked the violence and how the two men are connected have not been revealed. It is also unknown if the district attorney will be asked to press charges.
