Armed man arrested at Trump’s Los Angeles golf club ahead of fundraiser
An armed man was taken into custody at a golf club owned by U.S. President Donald Trump near Los Angeles over the weekend after he was seen watching security arrangements being set up two days before Trump was scheduled to arrive, police announced on Tuesday.
According to law enforcement, 38-year-old Janine John Teal spent Sunday taking photos and recording video on the club’s grounds. Trump reached the venue by helicopter on Tuesday evening to attend a fundraising dinner organized by the Republican National Committee.
Officers who detained Teal discovered a 16-round ammunition magazine in his pocket. A loaded handgun was recovered from his vehicle. On Monday, authorities searched his residence in the nearby city of Downey and seized additional firearms, ammunition, body armor and several laptops containing what investigators described as alarming messages.
Teal was later freed after posting $250,000 bail. A court has ordered him to stay away from the golf club and barred him from owning or carrying weapons.
The incident comes after multiple previous assassination attempts targeting Trump, as reported by pmo.ee (https://pmo.ee/8521462).
