An illicit nighttime assembly on Carson streets turned lethal in the early hours of Sunday when firearms were discharged, killing one participant and gravely wounding two more.

Personnel from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department rushed to the junction of Charles Willard Street and Harmen Avenue shortly after 3 a.m. following emergency calls about shots fired. Deputies arriving at the location found three individuals who had sustained bullet wounds.

Responders from the county fire service administered immediate medical aid to all three wounded persons on site. Medical personnel declared one victim deceased at the location. Ambulances transported the surviving pair to regional trauma centers, where they were admitted in dire condition.

The sheriff's department blocked off the surrounding intersection to preserve evidence and conduct witness interviews. During the operation, visibly shaken acquaintances of the victims arrived and had tense verbal exchanges with officers securing the perimeter. Remnants of the unsanctioned event, including burned rubber and scattered litter, littered the roadway.

No information has been made public concerning possible perpetrators or whether anyone has been taken into custody. The probe continues without resolution.
