Two Arrested After Rolling Shootout Near Mall St. Vincent in Shreveport

Shreveport Police arrested two people following a shooting at St. Vincent Ave and Kings Highway. One suspect was charged with obstruction, another with illegal weapons discharge.

Shooting at St. Vincent and Kings Highway Leads to Two Arrests

Shreveport Police responded Monday around noon to reports of shots fired at the intersection of St. Vincent Avenue and Kings Highway, ktbs.com reports. Officers arriving at the scene found multiple shell casings of different calibers scattered across the roadway.

Detectives from the Shreveport Police Department's Homicide Unit took over the investigation. Witness statements and surveillance footage from nearby businesses helped investigators reconstruct the sequence of events.

While officers were still working the scene, Rayveous Crawford arrived at Ochsner Hospital with gunshot wounds to both legs. A family member had transported him to the hospital. Detectives coordinated with LSU Police and interviewed Crawford, but investigators said he was not forthcoming with details about the incident.

As the investigation progressed, detectives identified one of the vehicles involved and located a suspect believed to be the shooter. Chrishun Morris was found at a residence in the 6100 block of Tierra Drive and transported to the Violent Crimes Unit for questioning. Following that interview, Morris was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice.

A third vehicle believed to be connected to the shooting was later found in the 7000 block of Creswell Avenue and impounded for forensic processing. Detectives subsequently returned to Ochsner Hospital, where Crawford was taken into custody and charged with illegal carrying and discharge of weapons.
