A 50-year-old woman died after being stabbed at a South Carolina apartment complex, and authorities have charged a 21-year-old man with her killing.

Authorities in South Carolina's Lowcountry are investigating a deadly knife attack that claimed the life of a 50-year-old woman at a Bluffton housing complex.

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office received an emergency call shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday reporting a domestic dispute underway at Vista View Apartments, according to WCIV.

Deputies who responded discovered Elisa Palacios with severe blade injuries. Despite efforts to save her, she was declared deceased at Hilton Head Hospital around 2:43 p.m.

A 21-year-old male who also sustained injuries during the altercation was transported to a medical facility. Investigators have secured warrants charging him with homicide and armed criminal conduct.
