Wisconsin Woman Arrested for Drugging Men at Miami Clubs, Stealing $74,000 in Jewellery and Clothes

Deziree Nicole Hood, 20, allegedly drugged two men she met at Miami-area clubs and hotels, stealing a $14,000 Rolex and $60,000 in designer goods within days.

Wisconsin Woman Charged in Miami Drugging and Theft Spree

A 20-year-old Wisconsin woman allegedly drugged men she met at clubs and hotels in the Miami area over the course of several days, making off with tens of thousands of pounds in jewellery and designer clothing, Florida authorities said. Law & Crime reviewed the probable cause arrest affidavit detailing the two separate incidents.

Deziree Nicole Hood faces two counts of grand theft and one count of false imprisonment. Both incidents occurred earlier this month.

First incident: May 16, Virginia Gardens

The first case unfolded on May 16 at the Candlewood Suites Hotel in Virginia Gardens. The victim told police he met Hood at the hotel and the two had drinks together. Hood handed him a drink, after which he "began feeling disoriented, dizzy and unable to remember subsequent events," according to the affidavit.

When he woke up, his $14,000 Rolex Oyster Perpetual was missing. A subsequent blood test came back positive for benzodiazepines — commonly known as benzos — which officers said were administered without his knowledge or consent.

Hood did not keep a low profile after the theft. Investigators found a selfie on her social media allegedly showing her wearing the stolen watch.

Second incident: May 21, Miami

Five days later, on May 21, a second victim told police he met Hood at a club and the two returned to the W Miami hotel at 485 Brickell Ave. around 3 a.m. They continued drinking until 6 a.m., when the victim fell asleep.

When he woke up around 10 a.m., Hood was gone — along with designer clothing and jewellery valued at $60,000. Security footage allegedly showed Hood leaving the building around 7:30 a.m. carrying a large bag.

The victim attempted to reach Hood by phone and via Instagram without success. Police identified her through her phone number, and the victim picked her out of a photo lineup, according to investigators.

Arrest and custody

Officers arrested Hood on Saturday for both cases and transported her to Miami-Dade Jail. She has since posted bond. No court date has been listed publicly.

The two incidents brought the total value of alleged stolen goods to approximately $74,000.
