The victim, Lenford Peters, alias "Beenie Man," was found lifeless around 19.20 hours in the vicinity of Brighton primary school. Neighbourhood residents had reported heavy gunfire shortly beforehand.

The incident followed less than 24 hours after a fatal shooting in the Marriaqua Valley, in which Kevin Richards was killed.
