According to vipd.vi.gov, St. Croix 911 dispatchers received a call at 8:48 a.m. on June 29, 2026, reporting that a man and a woman had been shot multiple times at Lorraine Village.

Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) officers and Emergency Medical Services crews responded to the scene. Both victims were transported by ambulance to Juan F. Luis Hospital, where they remain in stable condition.

VIPD has identified 22-year-old Janigh Gonsalves as the suspect wanted in connection with the shooting. He is described as a Black male with a light complexion, approximately 5'6" tall, weighing around 125 pounds, with black hair in a twisted style, brown eyes, and a birthmark on his chest.

Gonsalves is known to frequent Lorraine Village, Aureo Diaz, and Grove Place. Authorities warn that he is armed and dangerous.
