"El Oreja" arrested in Constitución, fugitive accused of aggravated homicide
The Argentine Federal Police detained a 36-year-old man in Buenos Aires with an arrest warrant for aggravated homicide with a firearm. His two accomplices were already in custody.
Operation in Constitución closes in on the three accused of aggravated homicide
The Argentine Federal Police (PFA) arrested a 36-year-old man known as "El Oreja" on Thursday in the Buenos Aires neighbourhood of Constitución, who had an outstanding arrest warrant for aggravated homicide, noticiasargentinas.com reported. With his arrest, the three suspects charged in the crime are now at the disposal of the justice system.
The offence is classified as "aggravated homicide through the use of a firearm, through cruel conduct and through the premeditated participation of two or more persons". The other two accomplices had been arrested previously.
The operation
Federal officers analysed information gathered during investigative tasks and managed to establish a pattern of the fugitive's movements. Based on that surveillance, they determined that he could frequent a shelter located on Constitución Street at number 3,100, in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.
With that information, the officers mounted a surveillance operation in the vicinity of the location. Upon detecting the arrival of the suspect, they proceeded to detain him and transfer him to the police station to complete the corresponding procedures.
The case is being handled by the Criminal Oral Court No. 29, presided over by judge Rodolfo Gustavo Goerner.
The homicide of 18 April
The crime occurred on 18 April 2025. The victim was in his home with his partner and two friends when, at one point, he fell asleep.
It was then that his wife engaged in conversation with the other two men present and told them that she was suffering physical violence and abuse at the hands of the man.
Following that confession, the two men looked for a rifle and a sharp instrument. Taking advantage of the victim's sleep, they initiated the assault: one of them stabbed him repeatedly, whilst the other fired at least three shots with the firearm. One of the projectiles struck the right parietal region and caused his death immediately.
