On Friday evening shortly before 8 pm, a man travelling by bicycle stabbed a foreign-origin man walking on the street in Oulu's Kaukavainio district. The attack occurred on a pedestrian path when the person on the vehicle attacked the victim with a bladed weapon to the upper body.

After the incident, the suspect left the scene by bicycle in the direction of Kaukavainio. According to police, the attacker and victim did not know each other beforehand, Yle reports.

The injured person was taken for treatment to Oulu University Hospital. According to initial information, he has no life-threatening injuries. Authorities are investigating the case as an attempted murder.
