According to Google News FR — Crime (fr), the Waste Prevention and Management service of the Pays sabolien municipal authority launched an alert following several reports from residents. Individuals are presenting themselves at homes claiming to be authorised to replace waste bins, then demanding payment. "This is a fraud," the local authority states.

The municipal authority clarifies that its agents always intervene in identifiable uniform, accompanied by a vehicle bearing the municipality's logo, and carrying a professional identity card that can be used to verify their identity.

Bin replacement is free and is carried out exclusively at the reception of the Waste Prevention and Management service. No payment should be made to anyone presenting themselves at a home for this reason.

In case of doubt, residents are invited to contact the service on 02 43 62 50 30. Any impersonator must be reported to the police.
