Two youths aged 19 are being investigated by authorities in Hunedoara county on suspicion of trafficking in psychoactive substances. The investigation was opened after one of them died following consumption.

Authorities in Hunedoara county have opened an investigation against two youths, both aged 19, suspected of trafficking in psychoactive substances. One of them died after consuming the products he was distributing, whilst the other survived.
According to information obtained by investigators, the two adolescents allegedly acquired the drugs from abroad with the intention of reselling them on Romanian territory. One of them was found unresponsive at his home in the municipality of Deva, and the emergency medical team was unable to save him despite resuscitation efforts.
In the case of the second youth, who consumed the same substance, the intervention of doctors was successful, and he was transported to hospital in a conscious state. He was subsequently detained by police and is being investigated on suspicion of committing the offence of trafficking in controlled drugs.
