A male person, aged 47, with domicile in Râmnicu Vâlcea, is in the custody of the authorities after being placed in preventive arrest for one month. The suspect is being investigated for allegedly forcing a 67-year-old woman to engage in intimate relations against her will, according to information provided by Gazeta de Sud, which cites IPJ Vâlcea.
The incident is reported to have taken place on 9 June 2026. Investigators from the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the local Police established that the suspect exerted pressure on the victim, aged 67, forcing her to submit to acts of a sexual nature.
The investigation was conducted under the coordination of the prosecution office attached to the court of first instance in the city. After the evidence was examined, on 11 June 2026, the authorities decided to detain the individual for one day.
The following day, on 12 June 2026, the judge for rights and liberties at Râmnicu Vâlcea District Court validated the prosecution's request and issued a preventive arrest warrant for 30 days.
The suspect was taken to the detention and preventive arrest centre of IPJ Vâlcea.
