A man from Tulcea County has been issued a provisional detention order for thirty days after being caught operating an unregistered vehicle without legal driving rights and causing a deliberate collision.

The incident occurred on 6 June 2026, around 17:30, on a public road in Cataloi village. The road aggressor intentionally drove his vehicle head-on into a commercial vehicle, causing damage valued at 4,000 lei.

Law enforcement officers from Rural Police Section I Tulcea gathered evidence under the supervision of a prosecutor designated by the Office of the Tulcea District Court. Based on the evidence, the judge in the case requested a preventive detention measure, and the court approved the request on the same day, 9 June 2026.

The defendant remains in custody for a period of one month, with investigators continuing to gather evidence. It is noted that this measure does not negate the right to the presumption of innocence.
