The National Anticorruption Directorate has placed the head of ANPC's Inspection Body under judicial supervision, accused of taking money to influence an inspection at a coastal establishment.

A senior official with the Consumer Protection Authority has been placed under judicial supervision by anticorruption prosecutors. Bogdan-Eduard Dragomirescu, who heads the ANPC's Inspection Service, is under investigation for alleged corruption offences.
DNA investigators claim that in July of this year, the official requested and received 15,000 lei from the administrator of a club located in the Mamaia resort. The money was allegedly given in exchange for a promise that he would intervene with the inspectors who were to verify the establishment, so that they would not impose fines or temporarily close the premises.
On 18 July, ANPC commissioners carried out an inspection at the club in question, as part of a campaign to check establishments on the coast. Prosecutors say that due to Dragomirescu's intervention, the inspectors did not sanction the deficiencies found and did not order the suspension of activities, despite regulations requiring this.
The measure of judicial supervision was instituted for a period of 60 days. DNA emphasises that this decision does not mean the person is already found guilty. The investigation of the case continues.
