A Brazilian national who was on the run from authorities has been captured in the Cooperative Republic of Guyana following coordinated efforts between international law enforcement agencies.

The man, whose identity has not been publicly disclosed, was listed on Interpol's Red Notice system. A preventive arrest warrant had been issued by the courts in the Brazilian state of Pará.

Investigators in Brazil allege that the suspect was part of a criminal group involved in a robbery that took place in the city of Tailândia, Pará, during 2025. The offence reportedly involved serious threats and the restriction of the victims' liberty.

Brazilian Civil Police conducted enquiries that helped identify and locate the fugitive, leading to his inclusion in international search mechanisms.

Through police cooperation with foreign agencies, the Brazilian Federal Police was able to track the man to Guyana, where he was taken into custody. Following his arrest, he was transferred back to Brazil and handed over to the appropriate authorities to face legal proceedings.

The operation also received support from the Civil Police of Roraima state and the Guyana Police Force.
