A man born in Guyana was transferred into US custody and flown abroad to defend himself against allegations of financial crimes committed in America.

Ronley Floyd Bynoe was collected from the Georgetown Camp Street Prison late on Tuesday evening, where he had been kept pending transfer. Officers transported him to the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, where American law enforcement agents assumed responsibility for him. He boarded an outbound flight at half past one in the morning.

The accusations levelled against him involve improperly using another person's Social Security number, stealing someone's identity in an aggravated manner, and engaging in fraudulent banking activities.

Court records show that in September 2023, a grand jury in Ohio's Northern District formally charged Bynoe. Judicial officers issued an order for his apprehension, but by then he had already departed American soil and made his way back to his birthplace.

More than two years later, in November 2025, Washington officially asked Georgetown to surrender him. The Ministry of Home Affairs sought guidance from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Shalimar Ali-Hack, on the proper legal steps.

The Home Affairs Minister, Oneidge Walrond, granted approval to move forward on 16 February. Police detained Bynoe domestically two days afterwards and presented him to Acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty. During that appearance, officials notified him that American authorities wanted him returned.

Rather than fighting the transfer through judicial channels, Bynoe accepted it voluntarily.
