Patrick Kireem Sanmoogan, who was wanted by the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit, turned himself in at CANU headquarters on Thursday accompanied by his lawyer.

A man being pursued by Guyana's Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit voluntarily gave himself up on Thursday. Patrick Kireem Sanmoogan arrived at the agency's main office with an attorney present and was subsequently detained.

According to Kaieteur News, the unit had publicly circulated a wanted notice for the individual on July 7. The notice related to accusations that he had illegal drugs in his possession for the purpose of selling them.

Prior to his surrender, the anti-narcotics agency had asked citizens to come forward with any details about where the fugitive might be found.
