An inspector attached to Regional Police Division 4 'A' is now defending himself in court after being accused of moving ammunition without legal authority. The officer, Abasola Flatts, made his first appearance before a magistrate in the capital on Wednesday.

Law enforcement officials say the allegation traces back to an operation on May 7, 2026, carried out at the Linden Bus Park in Georgetown. Investigators reportedly acted on intelligence gathered beforehand.

Before Her Worship Magistrate Fabio Azore, the inspector denied any wrongdoing, pleading not guilty to the charge. The court allowed his release after he posted bail in the amount of $150,000.

The case is set to resume later this month, with June 24, 2026, marked for the disclosure stage.
