Anti-narcotics officers found a Russian pistol and an American revolver during a raid in a Georgetown housing scheme, leading to the detention of two individuals.

Officers attached to the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit carried out an operation on Tuesday that resulted in the discovery of two illegal firearms and the apprehension of two people.

The raid took place at a location within Castello Housing Scheme. During the search, personnel reportedly found a 9mm Baikal Makarov handgun produced in Russia, alongside a .38 special revolver manufactured by Smith and Wesson. The latter weapon was found with a single live cartridge.

The agency responsible for combating drug trafficking later turned over the detained individuals, as well as the recovered weapons and ammunition, to local law enforcement authorities.

The incident occurred on 30 June 2026.
