Law enforcement officers in Guyana have detained two individuals following an armed hold-up targeting a vehicle repair worker in the East Bank Demerara region.

Officers in Guyana have detained two individuals following an armed hold-up targeting a vehicle repair worker in the East Bank Demerara region.

The incident took place at Covent Garden New Scheme. The repair worker was heading east on a roadway in the community when a pair of attackers struck. At that moment, the worker had his mobile device with him.

The assailants pulled up from behind on a motorbike. One rider got down, aimed a weapon at the worker, and snatched the handset before both sped away.

A rapid police response resulted in the capture of two persons of interest and the retrieval of the taken phone.
